Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Matthew Drennen age 89 of Austintown who died Sunday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Matthew was born Feb. 4, 1913 in Wyandotte, PA. and was a son of John and Mary Drenosky. He had retired after 44 years from Commercial Shearing where he was a hydraulic engineer. He was a charter member of Youngstown Rifle & Pistol Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gunsmithing and served in the Army during World War II. His wife Kathryn (Cupler) Drennen whom he married Sept. 11, 1941 died Sept. 26, 1990.He is survived by his children Barbara Carte of North Jackson, Matthew L. (with whom he made his home) of Austintown, John A. of Struthers, Gary B. of New Middletown, and Larry E. Drennen of Carrolton; 5 grandchldren and 4 gr. grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters Mary Miller, Edith Drennen, and a brother John Drennen. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
