Maxine Helen Franks

CORTLAND- Maxine H. Franks, age 93, passed away Friday evening at Ohio Living Lake Vista surrounded by her family. Maxine was born June 14, 1924 in Goodrich, Michigan to the late William and Bessie (Heath) McKay. She was a graduate of Flint Central High School in Michigan. Maxine was a loving homemaker and worked for the Howland School System for over 20 years as a secretary at the Howland Junior HS. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Warren. Maxine loved life, she enjoyed entertaining and was a gracious hostess! Her fourth of July Picnic's, and Christmas Eve Parties were anticipated annually by family and friends. She enjoyed Golfing and was a 50-year member of Chip and Putt. Maxine, along with her husband Bob, were former members of the Drum and Fiddle Dance Club. Maxine had a zest for life that was infectious, she was always fun and a joy to be around. Besides her parents, Maxine is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Robert Eugene Franks, who passed away November 6, 2011; her son Robert "Bobby", brothers Don, Bill, and sister Gerry. She is survived by her two sons, William (Jeanette) Franks, and James (Lisa) Franks; three grandchildren, Gibbons Franks, Robert and Natalie Franks; her sister Betty Lee McGregor. Friends may call TODAY, Monday 5-7PM at the Lane Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Dr. NE in Warren where Pastor Dan Barker will celebrate Maxine's life at 7PM. The family invites friends to join them for a celebration of Maxine's life immediately following the service at her son's residence in Cortland.
