Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 8th at the Berlin Center United Methodist Church for Maxine J. Hilles of 5060 Bedell Rd. in Berlin Center who passed away Thursday morning at Essex Healthcare of Salem. Mrs. Hilles was born Oct. 6, 1919 in Palmyra, Ohio the daughter of Thomas A. and Ann (Griffith) Johns. She was a homemaker and a member of the church, as well as a member of the Eastern Star Palmyra Chapter # 114, the Berlin Center Historical Society, and a graduate of the Palmyra High School. She leaves 3 daughters; Linda Jibotian of Warren, Bronwyn Taylor of Berlin Center, and Deborah Wagner of Salem. She also leaves a brother Norman Johns of Ravenna, and 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Mrs. Hilles was preceded in death by her Husband Charles R. Hilles whom she married January 4, 1941 and passed away on January 31, 1996. Two sisters; Frances Hewitt, and Maurine Flick and brother Gordon Johns are also deceased. Memorial tributes may be sent to the church. Friends may call from 2-5 P.M. on Sunday October 7 at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel.
