Private funeral services were held for Maxine Vera Fontanarosa, 85 of North Lima, who died Wednesday morning at her residence. Maxine was born June 5, 1934 in Bobtown, PA, a daughter of the late Clarence and Edna (Wright) Chadderton. She graduated from Point Marion High School and came to this area shortly after graduation. She worked for American Standard and Remley Optical. It was at Remley Optical where she met her husband Felix. They were married almost 50 years, befored he passed away on March 4, 2005. Maxine worked part-time for her husband at his businees, Central Optical. She also worked at Gateways to Better Living for several years and at the age of 50, Maxine went back to school and became an LPN. She was an avid walker, walking two miles a day, five days a week. For many years she walked along with her dogs in Boardman Park and Millcreek Park. Maxine loved to read her novels and enjoyed traveling.She was lucky to visit so many different places, Italy and Siesta Key being her favorites. Maxine’s greatest love was her family. She hosted many Sunday dinners and birthdays at her home for her family where she would say, “We’re making memories.” She leaves two sons, Gary (Caren) Fontanarosa of Youngstown, Mark Fontanarosa of Hartford, Ohio; a former daughter-in-law, Suellen Fontanarosa; two granddaughters, Lisa Fontanarosa; Amy (Brent Daugherty) Fontanarosa and one great-grandson, Christopher. She also leaves a brother, David (Vivian) Chadderton of Dillener, PA; two sisters, Jennie Woods of Maryland and Edna Ruth Lavins of PA and her beloved dog, Sweetie. Besides her parents and her husband, Maxine was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Gina Marie; a son, Dino Fontanarosa; two sisters, Peggy Paget, Betty McLAughlin; and one brother, Daniel Chadderton. There were no public services or calling hours per Maxine’s wishes.
