HOWLAND-There will be services at 10AM Monday, June 18, 2007 in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Liberty for Melissa Sue Smith, 32, of Howland, who passed away at 7:15AM Wednesday, June 13, 2007 in her home. Melissa was born October 21, 1974 in Warren the daughter of Brenda (Moore) Rodgers. Melissa attended Fairhaven Workshop in Niles and Kent State University Trumbull Campus and was an active member of the church. Melissa loved basketball, NASCAR; she was an artistic painter and enjoyed swimming and going to church and reading scripture. Most of all, Melissa enjoyed the time that she spent with her family, especially her nieces and nephew. Melissa is survived by her mother and stepfather David and Brenda Rodgers of the home; grandparents Jean and Walter Moore of Mineral Ridge, and Arlene Rodgers of Howland; three brothers Gene (Kira) Robison of Columbus, Keith Robison at home, and Kevin Robison of Provo, Utah; two stepbrothers Jeremy Rodgers of Warren, and Joshua Rodgers at home; a step sister Michaela Rodgers at home; several nieces and a nephew. Melissa was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Charles and Doris Smith Sr. Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 17, 2007 from 5 until 8 PM in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
