Michael H. Bokor, age 68 of Howland, Ohio, died at his home on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 2:30 PM with his family by his side. He was born on September 5, 1945 in Sharon, PA, the son of the late Julius and Louise Sebestyen Bokor. Mike was a 1963 Sharon High School graduate and was retired from Packard Electric in August of 1995 as a tool and die maker. Following retirement, Mike and his wife, Ella May moved to Sun City West, Arizona, they lived there for 17 years. He loved to read and golf. His pride and joy was spending time with his family, especially his two grandsons, Chase and Cole Pownell of Mason, Ohio. Mr. Bokor was an honorably discharged US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was bestowed a Bronze Star Medal with "V" Device for his heroism in ground combat and the Award of the Army Commendation Medal. Other than his two grandsons, other survivors include his wife, the former Ella May Lawn, whom he married on June 24, 1967; two daughters, Jennifer (Larry McManus) Bokor of Warren, and Bonnie (Gregory) Pownell of Mason, Ohio; his siblings, Irene (Richard) Young of West Palm Beach, FL, Margaret Halula of Sharon, PA, Julius (Jeri) Bokor of La Mesa, CA, Alex Gorgo of Homestead, FL, and George (MaryAnn) Bokor of Sharon, PA. Other than his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his sister, Vilma Bokor, his twin brother, John Bokor, and his niece, Cynthia Halula. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM, on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive NE, Warren, Ohio 44483. Rev. Father Bernard Schmalzried will celebrate Michael's life. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until the time of the service on Friday evening. Military services will also take place after the religious service on Friday evening.
