Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:30 PM at the Forest Lawn Cemetery Chapel for Mike Papic of North Lima who passed away on Sunday. Mr. Papic was born March 20, 1920 in Akron, OH the son of Nick Oscar and Petra (Goykovich) Papic. Mike was a retired Operating Engineer with Local #66, and also served in the Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre and earned the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Mike leaves two children: Patricia A. Chaffee of Boardman, and Barbara E. Chamberlain of Columbus. He also leaves eight sisters: Ann Blender of Salem, Helen Vickers of Salem, Dorothy Marks of Leesburg, FL., Eva Laubscher of Akron, Rose Socotch of Homeworth, Mary Maddox of Bradenton, FL., Kathryn Vizzuso of California, and Sadie Bush of North Lima. Mike also leaves a brother Dan Papic of Salem and four grandchildren, as well as two great-grandchildren. Mr. Papic was preceded in death by his wife, the former Ruby Caroline Houser whom he married October 26, 1946 and passed away in 1976. A sister Mildred Berrong and two brothers: George and Joe Papic also preceded him in death. Friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30, one hour prior to the services at the Forest Lawn Cemetery Chapel.
