Mildred Irene "Milly" Jessep

CORTLAND- Mildred Irene Jessep, age 91, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at her residence. She was born January 18, 1926 in Warren to the late Horace Brenner and Imo Mansfield Brenner. Mildred attended Warren School and raised her children in Champion. She was an active member in the community and many will remember her years at the Champion Roller Rink, she retired from Champion School District as a Head Custodian. Everyone knew her as "Milly". Mildred enjoyed helping others and took special pride in taking care of her husband. She was strong willed, devoted, and adored the color pink. Mildred is survived by her husband Charles Jessep, her children, Sharyn (Danny) Lester, Cecilia Lester, William (Colleen) Southern, III., Warren (Julie) Southern, and step-daughter Rhonda Jessep. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. Numerous loving nieces, nephews, and friends will miss her. Besides her parents, Mrs. Jessep is preceded in death by her two daughters, Wilinda Doll and Debbie Southern; and a brother Russell Brenner. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last few months. A special thanks to her granddaughter Stephanie Hovis, niece Rachel Sackett and sister-in-law Sheleane Sackett. Family and friends may call 5-7PM Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Lane Funeral Home, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Dr. in Warren. A memorial service will be held at 7PM with Pastor Joe Congemi officiant.
