AUSTINTOWN-Funeral Services will be held Monday at 1 PM at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for James L. Walters of 511 Cottage Pines SW in Warren who died Thursday at Northside Medical Center. James was born November 30, 1929 in Youngstown the son of James Sr. and Florence (Davis) Walters. James graduated from Liberty High School and went on to the U.S. Air Force serving during the Koren conflict. He spent many years as a Boy Scout leader in Liberty and was the past president of the Liberty Optimist Club. He also was a member of the Niles SCOPE and was an active member of the Faith Bapist Church in Niles. James retired in 1991 after spending 11 years as an electrical foreman with Great Lakes Steel in Michigan and prior to that was employed for 39 years at the Youngstown Sheet & tube Co. Mr. Walters is survived by his loving wife Viola (Vinyard) Walters who he married on November 9, 1949. He leaves 4 children Diane K. Rieden of Allen Park MI, Edward J. Walters of Flat Park, MI, Kenneth L.Walters of Holly, MI and Roger E. Walters of Austintown. He is also survived by 2 sisters Mary Mayhew of Hunnington, Conn. And Florence Mahugh of Baker Oregon along with 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is preceeded in death by his parents. Friends may call from 3-6 PM Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
