AUSTINTOWN- Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at St. James Catholic Church for John M. Gaster of 2815 Lydia Dr. SW in Lordstown who died Monday at his residence. John was born April 23, 1923 in Shoaf, Pennsylvania the son of William Dewey and Edna (Reynolds) Gaster. He proudly served in the Pacific & Atlantic Theatres while in the U.S. Navy and retired in 1986 from General Motors in Lordstown as a fabricator after 31 years of service. John was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church, UAW Union #1714, VFW #9278 in Lordstown and F&A.M. Lodge #776 Silver Trowel. Mr. Gaster is survived by his wife Josephine (Kapel) Gaster who he married on April 19, 1947 along with 2 sons John W. Gaster of Wadsworth, Ohio and James V. Gaster of Scottsdale, Arizona. He also leaves 5 grandchildren. He is preceeded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Bill and Clesson Gaster. Friends may call at the Lane Funeral home Austintown Chapel Friday from 5-8 PM with a Masonic Service to be held at 8 PM. The family requests that tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of Warren.
