Mr. Thomas L. Proverbs Sr.

North Jackson- Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 A.M. in the Christian Life Center at 6101 S. Raccoon Rd, Canfield for Thomas L. Proverbs Sr. of North Jackson who died Monday at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Thomas was born August 27, 1938 in Austintown the son of William and Velma (Stark) Proverbs. He received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education from Youngstown State University and then went on to teach at several area schools. He retired from Glenwood Middle School in Boardman where he taught from 69-92. Tom was a member of the Christian Life Center and the Wednesday Morning Bible Study. Mr. Proverbs is survived by his loving wife Ellen (Bloomstine) who he married on August 21, 1966. He also leaves 3 children Thomas Jr. and wife Sherri of Newton Falls, Kirsten and husband John Thompson of Chesterland, Ohio and Linnea of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Tom is also survived by a sister Nancy Clever of Austintown and two brothers William of Austintown and Richard of Canfield along with 2 grandsons Garrett and Evan. He is preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel on Wednesday from 5-8 PM. The family requests that tributes take the form of donations to the Christian Life Center or North Mar Church in Warren.
