Muriel Sprague Dorn

Muriel S. Dorn, 89 Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 12th at 12:00 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, 65 N. Broad Street, Canfield Chapel for Muriel Sprague Dorn, 89 of Salem who died Saturday morning at Circle of Care in Salem. Muriel was born November 25, 1927 in South Portland, Maine, a daughter of the late Harvey and Edna Sprague Hooper and came to this area in 1948. She was a long time member of the First Church of the Nazarene where she had taught Sunday School and Bible Studies. Muriel enjoyed scrap booking and keeping daily journals of special memories. She leaves her husband, James D. Dorn, whom she married November 15, 1948; three sons, David (Jo-Ann) Dorn, Sr. of St. Augustine, Florida, Edward Dorn of Edinburg, Pennsylvania, Thomas (Julie) Dorn of Columbiana; one daughter, Diana DeJane of Hanoverton; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Besides her parents, Muriel was preceded in death by one brother, Darryl Hooper and four sisters, Helen Pinkham, Leona Hooper, Millicent Daggett and Marilyn Hooper. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at noon at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Community Hospice of Salem and Circle of Care in Salem for their kindness and exceptional care given to Muriel.
