Nicholas J. "Nick" Clementi, Jr., age 72 of Warren, passed away after an extended illness Sunday morning, August 19, 2018, at his home. He was born June 15, 1946 in Warren, the son of the late Nicholas Joseph and Rose Carmella DiLoreto Clementi Sr. He was a lifetime Warren area resident. Nick was a 1964 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He then served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam during the Vietnam War, serving as a sergeant in the 101st Airborne and as a Green Beret in the 7th Infantry Special Forces, serving a year in Vietnam and receiving the Purple Heart for wounds received in battle. Nick worked for 35 years at Delphi Packard Electric, retiring in 2002 as a supervisor in Plant 8. Nick attended Believers Christian Fellowship in Howland. He owned A-Team Fishing Charters on Lake Erie for many years, being known as Captain Nick. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed league bowling in the past. Nick was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Indians and Notre Dame football fan and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Nick is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Kathy J. Lincoln Clementi, whom he married January 6, 1968; one daughter, Denise Martini ( Bryan) Thomas of Champion; one son, Steven Clementi of Warren; three grandchildren, Brittany and Bradley Thomas and Nicholas Clementi and one sister, Kathy (Ronald) Slanco of Warren. His twin sister, Roseanne Clementi preceded in death in infancy. The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to Nick's special caregiver, Brenda Perry and to Southern Care Hospice for the loving and compassionate care shown to Nick. The memorial service will be at held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, where the family will receive friends from 4 until the 6 p.m. service. Pastor Joe Cameneti and Thom Duma will officiate. Military honors will be accorded following the funeral home service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Believers Christian Church youth group, 2577 Schenley Ave. NE, Warren,OH 44483 or to Southern Care Hospice, 5401 Ashley Circle, Suite E, Austintown,OH 44515.
