Nicholas V. DiLoreto, age, 95, of Cortland, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at the Gillette Nursing Home in Warren. He was born on September 13, 1917 in Warren, a son of the late Mike DiLoreto and the late Mary Dannessa DiLoreto. Nicholas retired from ITT Grinnell in 1983 where he had worked as a Die Setter for 18 years. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and watching the Cleveland Indians. He loved to walk, but mostly, he loved spending time with his step-grandchildren. His wife, Vendetta Adams DiLoreto, whom he married on November 25, 1959, preceded him in death on June 20, 1999. He is survived by a step-daughter, Beverly (Walter) Finney of Cortland and a sister, Edna DiLoreto of Warren. Also surviving are nine step-grandchildren, twenty three step-great grandchildren, fifteen step-great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Nicholas was preceded in death by three step-daughters, Donna Baker, Oris Heim and Claudia Clark, four sisters, Rose Clementi, Lucille Cardarelli, Matilda "Tilly" Len and Vera Dager, three step-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 6PM -7PM at the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland. Funeral services will be held at 7PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
