Norma Jean Sloat, 83 Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Lane Family Funeral Home, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown Chapel for Norma Jean Sloat, 83 of Warren who went home to be with the Lord early Thursday morning at Vibra Hospital of Mahoning Valley, Trumbull Campus, following a short illness. Norma Jean was born September 10, 1934 in Marion, Ohio, a daughter of the late Mario and Inez (Thrush) Guliuzza and came to this area in the 70s. She worked as a veterinarian assistant for Dr. Kantzer in Marion for several years and was a member of Ohltown United Methodist Church. She leaves her husband of 65 years, of which she was very proud, Frank Sloat, whom she married November 1, 1952; two daughters, Tarey (Dan) Balash of Mineral Ridge, Kim McLeod of Warren; four grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Zachary McLeod, Emily McLeod, Dana Uber and Derek Balash; two great grandchildren, Leah Uber and Liam Uber. She also leaves a sister, Patricia (Dick) Bond. Friends may call on Sunday from noon until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place , Memphis, TN US 38105
