Patricia "Patty" O'Connell

Patricia A. OConnell, 88, passed away at St. Elizabeth Medical Center on December 1, 2018 after a brief illness. Patty was born on October 1, 1930 to Clyde & Thelma (Callaham) Teeple. Patty was a registered nurse and retired from Southside Hospital where she was a surgical nurse. She enjoyed volunteering at the McKinley Memorial in their gardens. As a natural caregiver, Patty had a deep love for cats. She had an "invisible" sign in her yard that let all stray cats know they had a home with her. Patty is survived by her daughter-in-law Kim OConnell; her granddaughter Stephanie (Dan) Vanderburg; her grandson Zackary Vanderburg; her nephew Paul (Patricia) Berline, 4 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew. Patty was preceded in death by her husband Daniel E. OConnell and her son Christopher OConnell. A memorial service for Patty will be held on Wednesday December 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Lane Funeral Homes, Niles location. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
