Paul A. Spagnola, Sr. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for Paul A. Spagnola, 88 of Austintown who died early Monday morning. Paul was born April 21, 1930 in Youngstown, a son of the late Julius and Florence Spagnola and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from East High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Paul worked as a press operator for Republic Rubber for many years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of New Road Church in Austintown, was an avid bowler and had belonged to a bowling league. Paul was very family oriented and loved spending time with his family. His wife, the former Ruth M. Hargate whom he married July 8, 1950, died March 21, 2016. He leaves his son, Paul A. Spagnola, Jr. of Austintown; a daughter, Sharon (John) Cowley of Buffalo, Kentucky and two grandchildren, Jessica (Nick) Ramsdale of Wyoming and Stefan Cowly of Kentucky. Besides his parents and his wife, Paul was preceded in death by four sisters, Alberta Gallo, Angie Spagnola, Mary Mazzella and Catherine Terwilliger. Friends may call on Thursday from 10:00 a.m until the time of the service at noon at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
