Canfield- Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church for Phill H. Wetmore Jr. of Leffingwell Road in Canfield who passed away on Thursday afternoon at Forum Northside Hospital. Mr. Wetmore was born December 28, 1919 in Canfield the son of Phill H. and Daisy (Smith) Wetmore Sr. and was a decedent of Azariah Wetmore the original surveyor of Canfield and the Western Reserve for the Connecticut Land Company who came to Canfield by wagon to settle. A member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Phill retired from Ohio Edison in 1982 after 34 years of service. He was a member of the Chatterbox Men’s Club, The Argus Lodge # 545 in Canfield, and the thirty-second degree Scottish Rite, Valley of Youngstown. A 1939 graduate of Canfield High School and the Bliss Electrical School, Phill was also a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran. Besides his beloved wife Grace (Steffen) Wetmore whom he married April 17, 1948, Mr. Wetmore leaves a son Phill David Wetmore of Macomb, IL and a daughter Patricia A. Wetmore of Potomac, MD. He also leaves a sister Alice H. Gross of Toledo and two grandsons: Michael and Matthew Wetmore.
