There will be a Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Christine Church for Priscilla Switka, 75, who passed away Tuesday morning at Mercy Health-St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. She was born January 12, 1943 in Salinas, Puerto Rico, a daughter of Felix and Onelia Perez Vazquez. Priscilla was employed in the Nutrition Services Dept. at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, retiring in 1989. She was president of the Rose DeLima Damas. Priscilla enjoyed reading, baking, Sudoku and cross-word puzzles. She also enjoyed music and dancing but most especially spending time with her grandchildren. Priscilla is survived by her daughters, Rose Kapturasky of Austintown and Maria (Ronnie) Barber of Canfield; her son, Benjamin (Shannon) Switka of Boardman; her sisters, Mara (Ed) Ostrowski of Campbell and Dixiana (Pedro) Rivera of Orlando, FL; her grandchildren, Alexander Barber, Jared Kapturasky, Alaina Kapturasky, Nicolas Barber, Peyton Switka, Maxwell Switka and Cole Barber; her gr. grandson, Cayson; 15 nieces and nephews; many gr. nieces and nephews and her god-daughter, Cindy Violette. Besides her parents, Priscilla was preceded in death by her brother, Jorge Vazquez; her sister, Damaris Lopez and her dear friends, Sally (John) Gotch and Mary Lou Potts. The family would like to thank Priscillas many good friends, especially Francis Ortiz and Candy Hruska and also the nurses in the I.C.U. at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Friends may call from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, prior to the Mass, at the church.
