Private graveside services were held for Ralph Davis, 91, formerly of Berlin Center who died Tuesday evening at Hospice House. Ralph was born March 28, 1926 in Berlin Center, a son of the late John T. and Blanche (Fellnogle) Davis. He had worked as a millwright mechanic at Denman Rubber Manufacturing, Warren for 30 years before retiring. He was the longtime owner of Davis Tree Farm. Ralph was a former member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, the United Rubber Workers and the American Legion of Lake Milton Post #737. He was also a member of the Buckeye Big Bucks Club of Ohio. A gifted marksman during deer season, no buck was safe. Ralph was an avid golfer and at age 75, he had won the state wide American Legion Golf Tournament defeating 360 competitors. His wife, the former Phebe Anderson, whom he married April 29, 1950, died June 24, 1998. He leaves a daughter, Anne (Larry) Guthrie of Greenwood, Indiana; two sons, Philip (Marge) Davis of Tucson, Arizona, Paul Davis of Massillon; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Weinhofer of Windham, Ohio and Helen Reed of Diamond, Ohio. Besides his parents and his wife, Ralph was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Ripley. There were no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to Ralph's and Phebe's favorite charity, the Alzheimer Network, 4214 Market Street, Youngstown, OH 44512. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel.
