Gowanda, NY---Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel for Ray E. Neal who passed away Monday morning in Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, NY. Ray was born Sept. 13, 1915 in McGregor Corners, PA and was the son of George Scott and Laura Belle (Gahagan) Neal. He had lived in Youngstown from 1943 to 1996 before moving to N.Y. Ray was an Open Hearth Accountant for U.S. Steel for 35 years retiring in 1978 and was a member of the Churchill United Methodist Church and Liberty Senior Citizens. Ray is survived by his wife the former Ruby E. Knarr whom he married July 12, 1943; two children Rev. Roderick Neal of Buffalo, NY and Jacqueline Murphy of Grove City, PA; four grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister Mildred Hollenbaugh, and four brothers Clayson, Leonard, Frank, and Kenneth Neal. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
