Raymond J. Robbins, 70, of Lordstown, passed away peacefully, after a two and half year battle with cancer on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at his home, with his girlfriend Brenda by his side. Born October 9, 1947 in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of Raymond and Martha Robbins. Raymond attended Austintown schools and was a 1967 graduate of Fitch High School. After graduation, he went to work at the Lordstown- General Motors Assembly Plant, where he worked until being called by Uncle Sam to serve two years in the Armed Forces (Army) which he spent in Germany. Upon returning home from the service, he returned to General Motors, where he spent the next 27 years. He had a deep interest in auto racing as a spectator and part time team helper for a couple different teams. He also was a very accomplished model racecar builder. He leaves behind his mother Martha J. Robbins of Canfield, his younger brother Kenneth (Ramona) Robbins of Austintown, two nephews Matthew and Isaac, two great nieces Alena and Aliza, and his longtime life partner Brenda Connelly. He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond. At his request there will be no services. A celebration of life party will be arranged in the near future for his friends to share stories about the times they spent with Ray. Ray will be missed by many.
