Boardman- Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at St. Christine’s Church for Raymond Porea of Boardman, formerly of Canfield who passed away on Sunday afternoon at Beeghly Oaks Care Center. Mr. Porea was born November 9, 1915 in Homestead, Pa the son of John and Mary (Fagetan) Porea. An avid golfer, Raymond was a member of the church and it’s men’s club for over 40 years, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Austintown, the Saxon Club, the Canfield Businessmen’s Cub, and served as past president of the Grocery Wholesaler’s and Retailer’s of Youngstown. Besides his dearest companion Virginia Good, he leaves two sons: John R. (Gwen) Porea of Houston, TX, and James J. (Phyllis) Porea of Perrysburg, OH, as well as two sisters: Letitia “Pat” Eberlein, and Betty Sabo both of Cleveland. Mr. Porea also leaves five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife Rita (Goske) Porea whom he married June 22, 1940 and passed away September 25, 1994. He was also preceded in death by a son Robert G. Porea who was killed in Vietnam, two brothers: John, and Danny Porea, and two sisters: Mary Anagnostache, and Cornelia Goske. Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home in Canfield on Tuesday from 5-8 PM Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley at 5190 Market St. Boardman, OH 44512.
