AUSTINTOWN----Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown, Chapel for Mr. Reid E. Williams, 84 of New Rd. who passed away Saturday morning at Briarfield at Ashley following a short illness. Reid was born June 20, 1918 in Bessemer, PA, the son of Clifton and Jessie McGary Williams and came to this area in 1941. He had been employed as a machine repair man for Packard Electric 15 years retiring in 1987. He was a member of the West Austintown United Methodist Church. Reid was a member of the Wick Ave. Masonic Temple and a shriner with the Al-Koran. He was an Army veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre. Reid enjoyed collecting and admiring classic automobiles. He is survived by his wife, the former Wilma G. Davis whom he married on June 7, 1941, one son Russell Williams of Tampa, FL, two sisters, Juanita Bowker of Bessemer, PA and Wilda Nutt of Austintown, two grandchildren, Richard and Christopher Williams and two great grand-daughters. Three sons, Gary, Arthur and Robert Williams, and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM Tuesday and one hour before services at the funeral home on Wednesday.
