Richard P Crooks

Richard P. Crooks 89 of Warren, Passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 6th, 2024.

He was born January 29th, 1935, to the late Karl and Laverne Delahunty Crooks.

He is preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, son Scott A. Crooks and grandson Ryan C. Latham.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Jolene (Fred) Latham and Robert (Cheryl) Crooks, granddaughter Shannon Latham, brothers Dennis (Patricia) Crooks, Roger (Kathy) Crooks niece, Lisa Rose and numerous other loving family members.

Richard married the love of his life Marilyn on September 10th, 1955. They shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. Always together, they enjoyed dancing, playing cards with friends, winning at casinos and traveling to Melbourne Beach Florida where they liked to spend their winters.

Richard was a hard worker and a man of many talents. He started working at the family business at the age of 16, which eventually led him to owning and operating Crooks Bottle Gas, serving the community and his customers was his passion. Deciding to retire in 1991 was a tough decision for him; but the time he got to spend with his family was an outcome he did not regret.

The ultimate family man, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Endless camping trips, golf outings, game nights and trips to car shows just to name a few. His favorite was just a simple visit from his kids who always made sure to bring a special treat to satisfy his sweet tooth.

In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, stamp collecting, bee keeping, poker with friends, golfing, dancing and following the stock market.

The family would like to mention a tremendous and heartfelt thanks to the exceptional nurses and staff at Liberty Arms.
