Richard "Dick" Kilpatrick

East Tawas- Richard "Dick" Kilpatrick of East Tawas, age 83 died Tuesday, December 19th at his daughters home surrounded by his loving family in Cortland, Ohio. He was born July 26, 1934 in Tawas where he and his family lived at the Tawas Point Light house. He is the son of the late Clinton Perry Kilpatrick and Mabel G. Warner (Fernette). He was a Graduate of Tawas Schools. Upon graduation he worked for Buick before joining the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a 20 year Veteran and served in Vietnam. When he retired from the military, he worked as a Plant Foreman at Baylock mfg. and then went on to retire from Kaumagraph Flint Corp in Millington. Dick and his late wife, Cindy enjoyed 20+ years of traveling, golfing, playing cards with friends at Tawas RV Park, he also loved to travel south in the winter to enjoy the sun, fun & friends also playing slots at the casinos in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was a huge fan of the Detroit Tigers and never missed a game on TV. Besides his parents, Dick is preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Cindy L. Kilpatrick and his sister Jean Katosh (Kilpatrick) of California. Dick is survived by his daughters, Karen L. Parker (Charles) of Cortland, Ohio and Kelly Harper (Seng) of Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin, his sons Scott Collins of Tawas, Richard C. Kilpatrick ll (Shelby) of Pittsburgh, PA., Stuart Kilpatrick of Newville, PA; 3 grandchildren, Samantha Ford of Cortland, OH., Samuel and Rene Kilpatrick of Pittsburgh, PA. Cremation has taken place and in the Spring/Summer he will be buried next to the love of his life in Greenwood Cemetery, East Tawas.
