Richard G. Edwards, Sr.

Richard G. Edwards, Sr., 89, of Washingtonville, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, January 5, 2025, at the Windsor House of Canfield.

Richard was born on April 2, 1935, in Detroit, MI, and moved to this area as a child. He graduated from Chaney High School in 1954. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

On November 12, 1955, Richard married JoAnn Corfee, and together they raised three children. He owned and operated Dick’s Floor Covering for 50 years and, after retirement, worked at Home Carpet.

Richard is survived by his wife, JoAnn; two daughters, Deb (Dusty) Quinn of Canfield and Lisa (William) Moss of Salem; his son, Richard Edwards, Jr. of Campbell; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his brother, Walter "Ed" Jezerski. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Bailey.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanette Edwards and Patty (Ross) Cooper; and two brothers, Howard (Thelma) Edwards and Robert Edwards.

In accordance with Richard's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
