Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 7th at 11:00 AM at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Richard Baird of Crory Rd. in Canfield who passed away early Monday morning at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Youngstown. Mr. Baird was born March 24, 1937 in Canfield the son of Ira and Ada (Feisley) Baird. A graduate of Canfield High School and Youngstown State University, Richard was the President of Baird Brothers Sawmill in Canfield and a director of the Ohio Valley Pumpkin Growers of which he grew pumpkins for over 20 years. He was also a member of the Canfield United Methodist Church and served in the Army Reserves from 1962- 1969. Besides his wife Margot (Dawkins) Baird whom he married November 23, 1963, he also leaves a son Matt Baird and a daughter Lori Burdette, both of Canfield. Mr Baird also leaves a sister Helen Perine and two brothers: Robert and Paul all of Canfield. Seven grandchildren: Matthew, Zachery, Benjamin, Sarah, Nathan, Brandon, and Dillon are also surviving. Richard was predeceased by his parents and a brother Howard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mahoning Valley Chapter of the American Heart Association, or to the donors favorite charity in Richard’s name. Friends and family may call at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield chapel on Wednesday, February 6th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
