Richard George Miller

Vienna - Richard G. Miller, 72, passed away Friday morning, December 29, 2017 at his home. Richard was born on January 1, 1945 in New Castle, PA, a son of the late George and Louise (Lysiak) Miller. He was a 1962 graduate of Brookfield High School and a proud veteran of the United States Navy. While serving his country during the Vietnam era he earned the National Defense Service Medal. After his honorable discharge, he faithfully participated in veteran activities. He worked in the steel industry for many years before retiring in 2000. He enjoyed wood working, antiques, classic cars, and was a member of the Olds Mobile Club of America. He was preceded in death by his parents. Richard will be deeply missed by his brother, Robert Edward Miller of Cortland, OH; his sisters, Mary Lou King of Worthington, OH, and Jean Miller of Cortland, OH; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 3, 2017 at 2PM at Lane Family Funeral homes Madasz Chapel located at 6923 Warren -Sharon Road in Brookfield, by American Legion Post #540. Friends and family may visit an hour prior to services on Wednesday. Burial will take place at Vienna Township Cemetery In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to American Legion Post #540 in care of the funeral home.
