There will be Services at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes-Austintown Chapel for Richard J. Huebner, 84, who passed away Monday morning at his residence. Richard was born July 25, 1933 in Youngstown, a son of Howard and Mildred Belcher Huebner. He was self-employed in the specialty steel products industry, retiring in 2008. Richard was a 1951 graduate of South High School and received his B.A. degree in history and economics from Youngstown University in 1959. Mr. Huebner served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. He was of the Presbyterian Faith. Richard was a member of the Youngstown Saxon Club, Branch No. 30, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 213, the American Legion, Post No. 0472 and the Civil War Round Table. He was also a 60 year member of Western Star Lodge No. 21 F & A.M., a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite-Valley of Youngstown and the Youngstown Shrine Club. Richard loved classic cars. He enjoyed history, especially the American Civil War and coin collecting. Richard also enjoyed Genealogy and traced his ancestors to the 1700s. He is survived by his son, Richard C. Huebner of Youngstown; his daughter, Nancy L. (Jeff Simmons) Locke of Canton; his brother, Douglas H. Huebner of Boardman and his grandchildren, Zachary, Jenna and Jessica. Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, on February 13, 2015, the former Olga S. Clark, whom he married Jan. 16, 1960. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the Service at the funeral home.
