Hartford– Richard Duane Kostoff, 79, of Hartford passed away Monday morning December 23, 2024 after a fierce battle with pneumonia.
Richard was born on October 18, 1945, in Sharon, PA, the only child of Mary (Bartolin) Kostoff and Theodore Kostoff.
He was a 1963 graduate of Joseph Badger High School and Dana School of Music at YSU. He loved music and gave private guitar lessons over the years. He worked in restaurant management for a number of years, General American Transportation, Westinghouse Electric Corporation, and retired from SRHS security where he worked for 22 years. He also served as a bartender for White Rose Spaghetti House. After retirement, he continued security services at Howmet Titanium in Niles and Butler Art Museum.
He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Vienna.
Rick enjoyed collecting vintage collectibles, especially World War II memorabilia. He enjoyed fishing, reading, flea markets and going on casino trips. He loved to travel to his favorite vacation spots, Siesta Keys, FL and Niagara Falls Canada.
Rick is survived by his, Marilyn, whom he was married to for 59 years; a daughter Lisa Marie of Rockport, TX; a son, Brian Douglas; and four grandchildren, Daphne Olivia, Peyton, and Brayden.
Family and friends may visit 10-11:00AM on Saturday December 28, 2024 at Lane Family Funeral Homes – Madasz Chapel, located at 6923 Warren Sharon Road in Brookfield. A memorial service will follow at 11:00AM.
