Rita M. Strohmeyer

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Friday at St. Marys Byzantine Church with Father Richard Lambert officiating for Rita Marie Strohmeyer who died Saturday morning at the Hospice House. Rita was born May 31, 1932 in Bazetta Township, the daughter of John and Anna (Rohr) Ramsey. Rita was a member of St. Marys Byzantine Church. She retired after many years from McCalis Giant Eagle in Niles. Rita loved to garden, do cake decorating, canning and watch old movies. She loved children especially her grandchildren. Rita will sadly be missed by her children: Rita (John) Montis, Regis (Patricia) Strohmeyer Jr., Dianne (Zephra) Frye, Eric (Sharon) Strohmeyer, Celeste (Mother Theodora) Strohmeyer, Lorraine (John) Magulick, Catherine (Mark) Rosine, Gregory (Robin) Strohmeyer, Rebecca (Chris) Prusha, Otto (Theresa) Strohmeyer and Mark Harvey son in law. She will also be missed by 27 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Regis W. Strohmeyer Sr. whom she married June 30, 1951 and who died February 24, 2016, her daughter Charmaine Harvey, son in law John Montis and brothers John Ramsey II and Richard Ramsey. Family and friends may call from 4-8 pm Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel. Prayers will be held at 9:30 am Friday at the funeral home prior to going to church. Rita will be buried in St. Marys Byzantine Cemetery next to her husband.
