Robert E. Elser

Robert E. Elser, Sr., 77 passed away on March 16, 2019 at St. Joseph Warren Hospital. Robert was born in Warren on June 3, 1941 to Gerald & Sarah (Anderson) Elser. Bob started his career at Brass Works and quickly went on to spend the majority of his career working in maintenance for Van Huffel Tube until their closing. He completed his working life and retired from Logan Way Farms. Bob enjoyed square dancing at Friendly Squares. He was a talented bowler with a 298 high score and spent many years on the leagues at both Cortland and Kinsman Lanes. He could frequently be found with friends playing cards or dice. At home in the outdoors, Bob loved tending to his gardens, camping and fishing. However, and most importantly, his greatest passed time was being with his family. Bob will be remembered for being a loving and caring father and grandfather. Robert is survived by his children Sarah (Mike) Church, Bob (Kimberly) Elser, Jr. and Michael (Stacy) Elser; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; his brother Gary (Vanessa) Elser as well as many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Janice Adkins. Visitation for Bob will be held on Wednesday March 20th, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lane Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, Cortland, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
