Robert Eugene Bell

Robert Eugene "Bob" Bell, 87, of Cortland, died Friday September 8, 2017 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born in Mansfield, the son of the late Byron B Bell and Gladys Jane (Ohler) Bell. Bob married Dorothy M (Zimmerman) Bell in 1951. He was a father of three loving children and a devoted husband for 63 years. On Saturday, with his children by his side, he peacefully joined his late wife, Dot Bell, and the Lord in heaven. Bob had a gift for woodworking, refinishing furniture, gathering with friends and family, and traveling. Bob was a hopeless romantic and had a zest for life that kept him on earth for 87 years. He was an active member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Cortland and volunteered at Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital. Bob was a 1948 class graduate of Wooster High School. Bob served for 4 years in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He then worked for 38 years at Falls Printing / Cox Lithographing Corp. Before retiring in 1992, he worked briefly at Lakeview Schools. Bob is survived by his two children, Lucinda (Mark) Frankie of Raleigh NC and Douglas (Kim) Bell of Columbus; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) McHenry and great grandson Parker of Raleigh, NC, Jason (Michelle) Frankie and great grandson Tristan of Rosedale, MD, and Curtis (Lily) Frankie and great grandsons Maddox and Wyatt and great granddaughter Vivienne of Holly Springs, NC. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dot in 2015, his son Curtis in 1976, and his brother Kenneth in 2008. The funeral services will be Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Cortland, where the family will greet friends from 2:30PM to 4:00PM prior to the service. Pastor Denise Gundersen will officiate. Burial will be in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna. Memorial contributions can be made to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church memorial fund, 490 N.
