Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Mineral Ridge for Robert Gilmore, age 75 of Mineral Ridge who died Thursday evening at his home. Bob was born Sept. 8, 1926 in McDonald, OH and had lived all his life in Mineral Ridge. He was the son of John J. and Frances (Williams) Gilmore. He was a 1944 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School. He then entered the Ohio National Guard. He enlisted in the Air Force and flew B 119’s cargo and gun ships as a Flight Engineer to Viet Nam and Korea. He was Crew Chief on 837’s Dragon Fly. During his stay of 34 years in the active Reserves in Vienna he became ground mechanic for the C 130’s. He served as Sr. Master Sgt. until his retirement. He was a member and an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge. He served on many committees and spent much of his energy on the Building and Property Committee. He was a 32-degree mason of the Meander Masonic Lodge, North Jackson and 32-degree Scottish Rite member. He was also an avid Nascar fan. He retired from Copperweld Steel after 30 years as a auto/diesel repairman and had also worked at Dodd Chevrolet in North Jackson He is survived by his wife Virginia Bender Warrick Gilmore whom he married 12/4/76; two children Linda Sue Gilmore of Brunswick, OH and James R. Gilmore of Niles; two stepsons Tom Warrick of Boone, IA and Douglas Warrick of Mineral Ridge; a stepdaughter Robin Warrick of Mineral Ridge; a sister Betty Hudzik of Mineral Ridge; a brother Roland Gilmore of Warren; and 11 grandchildren and 2 gr. grandchldren. Friends may call 1-3 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel where there will be a masonic service at 8:00 p.m. The family request tributes to the First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge or to Forum Health Hospice.
