Robert J Herman

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm, Monday, February 19, 2024, at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Robert J. Herman, 72, of Youngstown, who passed away on February 14, 2024, after a short illness. Prior to the service, family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 11 am to 12:30 pm. 

Bob was born on November 27, 1951, in Youngstown, the son of the late Frank and Gertrude (Lissimore) Herman. He attended Fitch High School, proudly served his country in the United States Army, and retired from the laborers’ union. Bob enjoyed fishing, watching movies about the military, and spending his free time restoring his Camaro and truck. 

Bob is survived by his daughters Nikki (Gary) Namie, Emily (Cody) Herman McMillan, and Brigitte Herman; grandchildren Makaila, Brooklyn, Marin, Murphy, and Angelo. He was also close to his former wife Diane and nephews Tim, Greg, and Frank. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William. 

Following the service, military honors will be rendered in Bob's honor. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Mary Jean and the Caprice Health Care Center staff, Lisa and the Bear Hugs Veterans' Home staff, and the Akeso Home Care and Hospice staff, especially Tom, for their care and compassion during Bob's illness.
