Robert L. Russell

Services will be at 1:30 PM Saturday Evansville Baptist Church for Robert Russell, 63, of Mineral Ridge who passed away Wednesday at his home. Robert was born September 23, 1943 in Cookport PA, the son of Eugene Arthur and Flora (Grove) Russell. He was a 1962 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in the Vietnam War. He served in the Air Force for 20 years retiring in 1982. Robert also worked as an independent carpenter for several years while in the Air Force and after his retirement. He attended the church and enjoyed carpentry, auto body, golfing and fishing. Robert leaves his wife the former Karen Stutler whom he married August 10, 1963, four children; Robert (Lisa) Russell of Niles, Michelle McBee of Morgantown W.VA, Michael (Oksana) Russell of Austintown, and Karen Nicole Russell of Mineral Ridge, ten grandchildren; Jason, Stephanie, and David McBee, Zach, Trevor, Daniel, Rachel, Nathan, and Mikayla Russell, and Jennifer Miller. He also leaves five sisters; Bertha Strock of Niles, Lile Goss of Florida, Emily Smith of Pennsylvania, Mary Lou Wilson of Arizona, and Edna Wiggins of Mineral Ridge, and one brother; Eugene Russell of Niles. Besides his parents, Robert is preceded in death by three sisters; Mabel Balzer, Peg Myers, and Miriam Carpenter. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 PM today at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel and again from 12:30 PM until the time of services Saturday at the Church.
