Robert P. “Bob” Grischow, 73, of Austintown, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 13, 2019 at his residence.
Bob was born November 9, 1945 in Youngstown Ohio, the son of the late Paul and Helen (Kraus) Grischow.
Bob was a 1963 graduate of Austintown Fitch. Prior to his retirement he was a salesman for Albert Guarnieri Co and previously worked at Sherwin Williams for 13 years.
Bob enjoyed spending his winters in Florida with his loving wife, Kathy (Albers) Grischow, whom he married September 9, 1967. Together they also enjoyed their love of barbershop music. Bob was a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for over 50 years, a director for over 20 years of the Stephen Foster Chorus in Warren, as well as a director for the Square County Chorus of Sweet Adelines, where his wife also sang.
Bob loved turtles and cared for many throughout his life including “Andy” for 34 years. He was an avid golfer and a Cleveland Indians and Browns fan.
Bob is survived by his wife Kathy; his sister-in law Ginny Bergant of Michigan; his niece Melissa Bergant of Michigan; and his great nieces Clare, Cammi, and Cassi of Michigan, two step brothers, Phil (Leslie)Cherry of West Jordan, Utah and Alan (Donna) Stuart of Grand Rapids, MI, and two step sisters, Arlene (Dave) Ortz of Spring Branch, TX, and Angie (Alvin) Shaffer of Grand Rapids, MI.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday July 25th from 5:00-7:00 PM at Lane Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Friday July 26th at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 Canfield Niles Road, Youngstown, Ohio, at 11:00 AM, where calling hours will be held 10:00 AM until the time of the service. The family requests any memorial contributions be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Buckeye Hospice.
