Robert Paul Long

Robert P. Long, "PA", 89, of Warren went home to be with the Lord November 24, 2014 at Cleveland Metro Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 30, 1925 in Adolph, West Virginia to the late Marion and Martha (Lloyd) Long. He was employed as a Coal Miner prior to moving to Ohio. He retired from Schaefer Equipment after 28 years of service. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the United States Navy as a Yeoman to the Captain of the USS Massachusetts. He was a family man who loved to take care of others. Family and friends meant the most to him and he was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Josephine (Fox) Long (Granny); daughters Linda Kay Conrad Johnson of Warren, Karen (Rev. Raymond) Gill of Navarre, Jean (Mike) Hess of Warren; son Robert (Ruth) Long of Warren. Grandchildren Nelson (Julie) Conrad, Julie (Steve) White, Eric (Liz) Gill, Jennifer (Adam) Riggle, Brad Jones, Nicole Conrad, April Long and Aubrey Long. Great-grandchildren Aleah, Zackery, Taylor, Alexis, Kameron, Hunter, Logan, Wyatt, Joey, Hailey, LaRyan, Amyah, Bennett, and Morgan. Sister-in-laws Marie Leigh of Warren and Louise Long of West Virginia, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by grandson Brent Kirk; brothers and sisters Owen Long, Marjorie Currence, Kenneth Long, Thelma Stokes and Clifford Long. Friends and family will be received Friday, November 28, 2014 from 5-8pm in the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Memorial Chapel 180 Garfield Dr. Warren 44483. The Rev. Raymond Gill will conduct the funeral service Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 1:00pm. Burial will take place in the Crown Hill Burial Park.
