Robert William Fini, age 80 of Warren died Thursday morning, April 12, 2018 at Ohio Living Lake Vista of Cortland. He was born July 24, 1937 in Warren, the son of the late Robert John and Helen Lucille Heathman Fini. Bob was a lifetime Warren resident and a 1955 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He graduated in 1961 from Youngstown State University with a bachelors degree in business administration. He started working at Packard Electric in 1956 as a production foreman and later in production control, retiring in 1989 at the age of 51 with 32 years of service. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Alice Marie Prosser Fini on March 23, 1956. Bob and Alice enjoyed traveling and fishing in Florida and Canada. They spent winters at their condo in Delray Beach, Fla. for many years. Bob was an avid reader and enjoyed participating in and following numerous sports, especially tennis and slow-pitch softball. He was proud of the fact that he once pitched a 1-0 extra innings game to win the district slow pitch championship. Bob is survived by his wife, Alice M. Fini; three sons, Robert W. Fini Jr. of Los Angeles and identical twin sons, William (Denice) Fini of LaPlato, Maryland and James (Mary Ann Lee) Fini of Sachse, Texas; four grandsons, Robert J. (Abigail) of Alexandria, Va., Andrew of Brooklyn,NY, Tyler of Manhattan, and Edward of Vienna, Va. Besides by his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother Edward M. Fini, daughter-in- law, Debra Dean Fini, his mother and father-in-law, Dorothy and Griffith Prosser, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patricia and Robert Oatley and his best friend since childhood, Bill Dahringer. The family wishes to thank all of Bobs physicians and the nursing staff of Trumbull Regional Medical Center, Hillside Hospital and Lake Vista of Cortland for the loving and compassionate care shown to Bob. The funeral service will be held at noon on the last Saturday of the month, April 28, 2018 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the noon service time. Pastors David Robert Black and James Garber will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
