Roberta Irene Gray

There will be a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church for Roberta I. Gray, 90, of Austintown, who died Friday, Sept. 1st. Roberta was born Sept. 22, 1926, a daughter of Robert and Dorothy Judd Rice. She was a secretary for Mahoning Bank for 18 years, retiring in 1989. Roberta was a graduate of South High School. She was very active at Zion Lutheran Church, where she served on the church council, was a member of the Altar Guild and was pres. of the Ladies Circle. She was also in charge of the Welcome Center and the Nursery, was a greeter and worked at church dinners. Roberta had been the vice pres. of the Mahoning County Jerry Lewis Telethon and served on the Mahoning County Board of Cystic Fibrosis. Roberta is survived by her husband of 59 years, Wesley F. Gray, whom she married May 17, 1958; her son, Wesley A. (Caroline) Gray of Hudson; her daughter, Kimberly S. Gray of Austintown and her grandchildren, Wesley A. Gray and Victoria C. Gray. Besides her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by her sisters, Trudy Chiarello, Helen Stabile and Charlene Salsgiver. The family would like to thank Concord Care of Cortland and Bella Care Hospice for their compassionate care and concern for Roberta.
