Rochelle (Lane) Hancock of Boardman, passed away on February 3rd, 2024 at her residence. She was born on April 21st, 1936 in Tennessee to the late Floyd Lane and Esther (Coffey) Phillips. She graduated from Danville High School in Kentucky, where she met her husband, the late Robert Hancock, and went on to marry him on June 9th, 1954. They spent over 50 years together, building a family and creating memories before his passing in 2012.
Rochelle went on to attend the Youngstown State School of Nursing, where she completed the RN-BSN completion program. She was employed at the South Side Hospital until its closing and went on to work at North Side Hospital, retiring in late 2002 after spending over 30 years as an RN.
Rochelle was an active member at her church, Evangel Baptist Church in Boardman, enjoyed gardening and tending to her lawn, but held a very strong love for antiquing. She eventually turned her passion into a small business in 1987, opening Home Classics, which she lovingly ran up until its closing in 2003.
She leaves her three sons, Scott Hancock of Youngstown, Lane Hancock of Palm Springs, California and Todd Hancock of Youngstown; her sister-in-law Diana Curry Hancock of Elizabethtown; and her nieces Mary Elizabeth Hancock McCandless (Murray) of Montpelier and Ann Rachel Hancock Sullivan (Jim) of Elizabethtown. Rochelle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother-in-law Warren Vincent Hancock.
