Ronald J. Jones

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:30 PM on Wednesday at St. Jude Catholic Church for Ronald J. Jones Sr., 73, of Canfield who passed away Tuesday at his home with his family by his side. Ronald was born June 24, 1941 in Warren, the son of the late Oliver and Lucille (McGuire) Jones. He lived in Niles and was a graduate of Niles-McKinley High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. Ron was the owner and operator of Tel Serv Communications, retiring in 2009. Prior to opening his own business he had worked for AT&T. He was an avid bowler and belonged to 3 bowling leagues. Ron's hobbies also included hunting and fishing, as well as a love for cooking. Ron leaves his wife the former Judy Brain, whom he married August 14, 1967, their children Kevin Jones of Westerville, and Jennifer Davidson of Perrysburg, a daughter-in-law Lori Jones of Austintown, as well as John Durkin of Canfield and Justin Durkin of Youngstown whom he raised as his own. Ron also leaves 10 grandchildren, Andrew, R.J., Mitchell, Chandler, Oliver, Jordyn, Michael, Finn, Brock, and Alex, one nephew Derek King and one sister Janice Williamson of Tallmadge. Besides his parents, Ron was preceded in death by one son, Jamie Jones. There are no calling hours prior to the services on Wednesday at St Jude Church. Arrangements were made by the Lane Family Funeral Homes Canfield Chapel.
