On Friday, May 31, 2019 Ron Jones, "RJ", loving husband, father and Papa passed away at age 65. He worked at Copperweld Steel and AJAX Tocco where he was proud of the work he did and the friends he made. Ron was most known as a great carpenter and prided himself on all of the woodwork inside of his home and earned himself the nickname Toolbox. He liked to share his hobby with others and would often help out a friend with both big and small tasks throughout the years. Most recently he started making crafts out of pallet wood for the holidays and enjoyed selling them to the Cortland community. He especially liked using his talent on painting different Ohio sports teams. He loved watching College Football, especially The Buckeyes. He would cheer on the Browns even when it was hard to be a fan and was excited to see what they would do this year. He loved being outside. After a long day of working or doing yard work, you could always find him laying back soaking in the sun with a smile on his face. He never knew when to stop. He took the work hard, play hard mentality to heart, and lived for every moment. Over the years Ron has enjoyed such thngs as canoeing, snowmobiling, riding motorcycles and riding sea-doos on mosquito lake. He loved his family deeply and it was his most proud accomplishment. Every year it seemed Ron would spearhead a new addition on to his house or draw up plans for a deck extension and he would teach his daughters- Jessie (Dave Scholten) and Kayce (Josh Arnal) about how to use his tools and while they were working would share stories of his childhood and teach them the importance of working hard for what you want. The only thing better for Ron, than being a husband and father was becoming a "Papa" to Ellie, Emmie, Gage and Meadow. He had so much love to share with all of them and they loved him back fiercely. Ron is sadly leaving behind his wife, Gayle who he would tell anyone who would listen that she was his rock. They were each others true best friends and biggest cheerleaders. She was always so proud to brag about his talents and how sweet he was and Ron would tell her how he was the most lucky man to have her as his wife. He was most sorry to have left her so much sooner than he had wanted. He was a friend to everyone, and anyone that knew him would tell you that he knew how to have a good time. Ron did not want anyone to mourn him, and instead asked that we have a Celebration of Life Party to remember all of the good times held at at Jessies house at 13661 North Palmyra Rd. North Jackson, OH on July 20, 2019 at 2:00PM. Ron truly had a heart of gold, and the stars are shining a little bit brighter having him watch over us all.
