Roy E. Heck, 79 Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Friday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, 65 N. Broad Street, Canfield Chapel for Roy E. Heck, 79 of New Springfield who died Sunday evening at Assumption Village. Roy was born May 18, 1939 in Enon Valley, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Kenneth E. and Grace M. Heck. He graduated from East Palestine High School in 1957 and had worked as a truck driver for U.P.S. for 30 years, retiring in 2010. His passion was farming. Roy was a lifelong member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church where he served as the youth group advisor; a member of the Poland Masonic Lodge #766 F and also a 4-H advisor. He leaves his five children, Debbie (Dana) Mirone of Poland, Becky Heck of Boardman, David (Cindi) Heck of North Lima, Greg (Terry) Heck of Dunedin, Florida and Peggy (Dan) Richey of Petersburg. Roy also leaves a brother Marlin (Heidi) Heck of Las Vegas; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Roy was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Katie Biroschak and two great-grandsons, Liam and Oliver Sugar. Roy will be dearly missed by his family, and as he often told us when saying goodbye, "Dont take any wooden nickels." Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel.
