Russell J Speelman

Russell J. “George” Speelman, 79 of Brookfield passed away Thursday March 18, 2010 at his residence. Born in Sharon, PA on October 24, 1930, George is the son of David and Helen (Geis) Speelman. A lifetime area resident, George worked as a fork lift operator at American Welding in Niles. He retired from there in 1986 after 34 years of service. George was of Methodist faith, was a past member of Fred Astaire Dance Club in Warren and USW Local # 3418. He got the greatest enjoyment from farming and gardening. He will be sadly missed by his children; Martha Speelman, Melinda Speelman, and Mary Nicholes all of Warren and a son John “Scotty” Speelman of Brookfield; and three children, James, Melissa, and Matthew. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Phyllis McCallion, Noreen Speelman and Ruth Speelman; four brothers, Jesse, Ronald, Ralph, and William Speelman; and his loving companion Ellen Speelman. Funeral Services will be held 11am Monday March 22, 2010 at Lane Funeral Homes – Madasz Chapel, Brookfield. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service on Monday.
