Russell L. Shuttleworth, Sr.

Russell Lee Shuttleworth Sr., 86, of Girard, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 3rd, at his residence with his family by his side.

He was born March 9, 1938 in Warren to the late Robert and Elizabeth (Nodge) Shuttleworth.

Russ was a 1956 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School. He worked for General Motors in Lordstown for 30 years, and retired on February 1, 1996. 

He enjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle and watching western's, especially John Wayne movies. He was an avid Ohio State, Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan, who always wanted to see them get to the Super Bowl. He was a member of the Victory Christian Church in Coitsville for many years, never missing a service.

Russ is survived by his two sons; Russ Shuttleworth, Jr. (Dottie Johntony) and Tim (Monica) Shuttleworth. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Russ (Jennifer) Shuttleworth III, Joe (Ashley) Shuttleworth, Kaitlyn Shuttleworth, Jessyca Shuttleworth (Will Churm), Kayla (Tia) Savage, Courtney Shuttleworth, and Sydney Shuttleworth; five great grandchildren; Jackson and Ruby Shuttleworth, and Cash, Hayes, and Amelia Savage; numerous nieces and nephews; ex-wife, MaryOla Stemple; and a special friend, Carole Kompanik.

Besides his parents, Russ was preceded in death by three brothers, Bob, Don and Tom; a sister, Delores Leonhart; and ex-wife, Barbara Shuttleworth.

The family would like to thank Patriot Hospice and Home Care along with Home Instead CarePro Nicole K., for all the care and support during Russ's final days.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Monday, August 12th at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel, 1350 N. Canfield Niles Rd., Mineral Ridge.

Friends may call 10AM – 12PM Monday at the funeral home.

He will be laid to rest in the Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
