Ruth A Hepler

NEWPORT, PA-A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 11AM in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Ruth A. Hepler, formerly of Penny Lane in Austintown, who passed away at 11:10PM Thursday, April 17, 2008 in the Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg, PA. Ruth was born August 28, 1924 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Phillip and Amelia (Kramm) Heidinger. Ruth was a 1942 graduate of South High School and worked as a supervisor for Blue Cross and Blue Shield for 18 years. Ruth was a former member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Youngstown and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermilion, OH. She enjoyed crocheting, doing crossword and word search puzzles and was an avid reader. Ruth was married on September 24, 1942 to Jack S. Hepler and they were married for 57 years until his passing on October 17, 1999. Ruth is survived by two daughters Gretchen (John) Stevenson of Lorain and Carol (Darwyn) Lahr of Newport, PA; two grandchildren Christine (John) Hering of Lorain and Michael Stevenson of Tallmadge; a great grandson Joshua Stever and three step grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by two brothers John and Joseph Heidinger and a sister Charlotte Meredith. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 from 6 until 8 PM in the funeral home.
