Ruth E. Murphy

Ruth E. Murphy, 92, of Austintown, went to be with the Lord, on April 30, 2019, at St. Marys Alzheimer Facility. Ruth was born on May 12, 1926 in Sykesville, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late William J. and Ethel (Fillhart) Carney. Prior to her retirement in 1982, Ruth worked in the office at GC Murphy. In her younger days, Ruth was Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed reading, knitting, croqueting and traveling. She leaves behind her four daughters; Yvonne Murphy, of Georgia., Diana Lawrence, of Newark, Ohio, Judy (Anthony) Zarconi, of Youngstown and Janet Wolfe, of Nebraska., eight grandchildren; Heather, Shawn, Kristina (Brian), Sheila, Brentt, Jennifer, Laura and John David, six great grandchildren; Hunter, Derek, Taylor, Stone, Sara, and Abby. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert Murphy, whom she married July 6, 1946 and died February 7, 2017, two son-in laws, John and Tom, a brother Olin Carney and her sisters Eva Humphreys and Margaret Zima. Grave side services will be held Friday, May 3, 2017 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Roberts name to the American Cancer Society, 525 N Broad St. Canfield, OH. 44406
