A Rite of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Saturday, January 26, 2019, at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel, for Samuel W. Rolla, 82, of Boardman who passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at Briarfield Manor Care Center after a short stay. Sam was born on January 10, 1937 in Youngstown to the late Andrew and Mary (Beznsko) Rolla, and was a lifelong area resident. Sam was a 1954 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 - 1962. He worked over 20 years for W.O. Starusbaugh Motor Company, retired in 1999 from Bliss Manufacturing Company in Austintown. He was called Bill by his family members and close friends. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeye Fan. Sam enjoyed going on casino trips and playing corn-hole. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife the former Barbara Jean Annibella, whom he was married to for 44 years, until she passed away May 23, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his sister Marie Wallace, and three brothers, Michael, Joseph and Jack Rolla. Sam is survived by four nieces and nephews, Kimberly (Robert) Bungard of Austintown and Joe (Jodylynn) Rolla of Canfield who were also his caregivers, and Maureen Rolla of Pittsburgh and James Wallace of Beverly Hills, FL., as well as several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephew. Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel, where services will begin at 11 AM.
